Alexander Malyutin — is a young and talented sound producer and DJ from the North of Russia.
Under Spieltape alias Alexander produces and plays deep, beautiful and melancholic music. He does not keep himself in the limits of one music genre, but instead he continually experiments with different styles — his tracks perfectly combine minimal techno, progressive, tech-house, deep house, “neotrance”, etc.

Alexander released his first EP at the age of 20. “Spiel EP” was released on the Canadian label Deep Tip in the end of 2006 and was supported by the well-known Pole Folder (Bedrock, Audio Therapy). For several weeks “Spiel EP” remained in Beatport`s deep house top-100.

The successful debut was followed by releases of “By My Side EP” (Modulator, 2007) and “Blunt” (Disoma, 2007). The original track “Blunt” and its remix made by the best Russian electronic project Moonbeam (Traum, Black Hole, Kickin) appeared in playlists of world`s top DJs — such as Armin van Buuren, Markus Schulz and Oxia to name a few. The famous Tiesto presented “Blunt” in his radio show “Tiesto’s Club Life”.

In the beginning of 2008 Spieltape joined the international community of Global Underground which made him the first Russian musician to sign contract with the legendary British label. Tracks of Spieltape and his side project So Called Music are included in numerous compilations — such as “Afterhours”, “Afterhours Ibiza”, “Digitized” and “Mixed”. Also Alexander made a remix for the famous progressive house duet Trafik.
Several other Spieltape works are due to be released this year. Among them — single “Lonely Places I`ve Never Been” (GU Music) and the first vinyl EP “Fountain Falls”.


Being one of the most promising Russian sound producers, Spieltape successfully represents Russian electronic music on the world arena.
